This ancient creature had emerged from his shell as a small, soft-scaled snakelet in times so far past that not even he remembers the precise date of his hatching. His first thoughts were surely composed of naught but hunger and it was hunger that drove him through the eons since that day.The little snake subsisted at first off the smallest of creatures. Humble and innocent, they did not sate him.He sought ever larger, ever more vicious creatures to sustain himself and though the taste of their lives grew more bitter their strength augmented his own, morsel by morsel. With every, ever-darkening soul he consumed, the greater and more powerful the serpent became.Each passing age saw his hunger and potency grow in turns as he sought out greater and more monstrous quarry. Such was the gnawing emptiness inside him that he was driven to the ends of the earth itself and beyond in his perpetual quest; departing the mortal realms themselves in his seemingly endless quest for satisfaction.He feasted upon twisting leviathans, and thus became one himself.
He consumed the most potent of titans, and in turn embodied the powers they held.
He devoured the devilish ancients that had persisted since the dawn of time, and what he became may well have been worse...The powers he possessed burgeoned, transforming him into an avatar too terrifying, too magnificent for any mortal to conceive, granting him mastery over the primordial forces, themselves-- yet the pains within him grew in tandem. Though it granted him no reprieve, those who found salvation in his passage had granted him a name by which to call upon him, putting voice to their most devout fear and gratitude:'Bandages'But millions of mortal prayers, generational worship, and even a name offered him not the most meager of sustenance. No peace. No rest.There seemed no relief to be found from his own terrible appetite and yet he followed the guidance of desperate prayers and the cries of innocents yearning for rescue in the hopes that the any of the entities that plagued their lives might at last offer him a moment of satisfaction.

After countless seasons, there at last seemed no greater prey left that could possibly satisfy the four-eyed, all-devouring behemoth that he had become. Traversing the fabric of reality, itself, allowed him to seek out the ancient evils that had ever plagued new lands, but these were just as hollow as the meals that had preceded them.The last of these was perhaps one of the meekest. An immense, life-rending parasite, it had latched onto the skies of its world, steadily consuming the fabric of magic that composed them. Though the terror of the mortals who witnessed this horror spurred the serpent on, the demonic entity was almost too easily thwarted; barely resisting even as it writhed down his gullet save for its stubborn latch onto the heavens it had single-minded meant to devour.Inadvertently, the eldritch snake had imbibed a piece of the skies themselves and found the flavors contained within the awful bitterness of that monstrous mite the most delicious he had experienced in his immortal life. Its purity, however, was too potent, too ephemeral, and the corruption he had sustained himself on for these many eons rejected that goodness wholesale. His retching and writhing shook the world that he had only just rescued to its very foundations before he expelled the mouthful of skies he had taken.And there she was.A small, seemingly fragile thing that had sprung forth from the mixture of monster, heaven, venom, and bile voided from his maw. A piece of purest sky granted freedom, given life, gifted voice all by happenstance; immaculate within the putrid ichor that surrounded her.When she beckoned him, he went to her readily, perplexed and yet so irresistibly intrigued that he only belatedly realized then what the heavenly, lingering taste in his long-corrupted mouth would prove over and over in time.His gluttonous belly, just recently emptied, had quieted for the first time since his own conception; soothed at last by his own creation.Thus, after he had embraced her and heeded her pleas, did he grant her the name she begged of him.'Remedy'
